Description

On a shield shaped silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/4 inch (3.18 cm) in heightblazoned as follows: Per pale Argent and Gules, a mullet Argent (Silver), throughout, charged with a silhouetteof a bucking bronco of the second. Attached below the shield,a Silver scroll inscribed with OHS BRONCHOS,in Red.     



Symbolism

Red and white are the schoolcolors. The star alludes to Texas,enlightenment and achievement. The broncho (pronounced bronco) is the schools mascot. This unique spelling of Broncho has resultedin Odessa High School beingthe only high school in Texas with this particular mascot





Background

The shoulder loop insignia (SLI) originally authorizedon 1 September 1976 is hereby cancelled due to a new design on 28 November2017.
