On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, blazoned as follows: Per pale indented Tenn and Sable. Attached above the shield, an orange scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed GALLUP in black. The overall dimensions are 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in height by 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.

The colors and the division of the shield suggest the strips of a tiger, which alludes to the schools mascot the Bengal tiger.

On a shield shaped Silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inch (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Vert, a Bengal tigers face Proper. Attached below the shield, a Black scroll doubled Orange inscribed FIERCE PERSISTENCE in Silver.

Orange and black are the school colors. The Bengal tiger is the schools mascot. Additionally, the tiger represents the schools motto of Fierce Persistence through dedicated pursuit of knowledge and training.

The shoulder loop insignia (SLI) was authorized on 1 December 2017.
