Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a yellow vertical rectangular-shaped embroidered item arched convexly at the top and bottom, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, a black pattern of hexagon-shaped cells to the left and right, throughout, overall a stylized yellow wasp as seen from above, wings white, black eyes, legs, markings and details. Attached above the rectangle a yellow scroll edged with a 1/8 inch black border inscribed TOMBSTONE in black letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.         


Symbolism

Black and gold are the school colors. Black suggesting confidence, commitment, and pride, while gold denotes excellence and victory. The yellow jacket is the schools mascot, a wasp well-known for its aggressive and defensive nature. As a swarm, yellow jackets work in unity to bring harmony within their community and pose a threat to invading enemies.

Description

A gold color metal and epoxied pentagon shaped device, 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height, divided vertically from upper left and right vertex, a jagged division of two points evenly to base, on the left side white over black, counterchanged on right side, surmounted by a stylized wasp abdomen throughout, stripped black and gold, the stinger extending to base, between two gold stars. Attached below the shield, a black scroll inscribed MELIORA in gold.
