Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a gray vertical rectangular-shaped embroidered item arched convexly at the top and bottom, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, a stylized silver fox head, ears, snout, and eye markings dark gray; mane, eye and nose highlights white; nose, details and outlines black; eyes orange. Attached above the rectangle, a gray scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed LAMAR H.S. Attached below rectangle, a gray scroll edged with a 1/8 inch black border inscribed SILVER FOXES in black letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.


Symbolism

 Black and silver are the school colors. The silver fox is the schools mascot, signifying strength, courage and leadership. As a symbol of school pride, the silver fox watches over the institution, and encourages students to excel both academically and athletically.

Description

A Silver color metal and epoxied shield shaped device, 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height, blazoned as follows: Quarterly Argent and Sable, a pole star throughout, in the first quarter a dexter and sinister hands couped above the wrists clasped; in the second quarter a lyre; in the third quarter a torch enflamed, surmounted on its holder by three annulets and in the fourth quarter a winged foot, all Argent (Silver). Surmounting the shield a demi-fox head within mantling extending from the top on either side to the ends of the scroll, Argent (Silver). Attached below the shield a black scroll inscribed LAMAR H.S. in Silver.


Symbolism

Black and silver are the school colors. The silver fox standing above the shield symbolizes the schools mascot watching over the institution. The two hands in grasp denote teamwork. The lyre and winged foot signify excellence in music and athletics. The torch with three rings further allude achievement in school activities. The pole star suggests the importance of guidance and encouragement to students, leading them into a bright future.
