Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, blazoned as follows: Khaki, Shoulder Sleeve Insignia.  Description:  On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, blazoned as follows: Khaki, a Vikings head affront Brn (Spice Brown) eyed Argent, detailed and pupils Sable, beard Tenn, wearing helm Vert with horns of the third, garnished of the fifth, all fimbriated of the fourth.  Attached above the shield, a khaki scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed HUFFMAN in black. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 7/8 inches (7.30 cm) in width.


Symbolism

The Viking is the mascot of the school; bold and adventurous warriors who were highly skilled in several disciplines as explorers and conquerors, which reflects the cadet core values.

Description

A gold color metal and enamel insignia 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm ) in height overall consisting of a white enamel shield bearing a red enamel saltire, overall a black enamel pale charged with the gold figure of  Vulcan in perspective.


Background

The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 25 May 1976.
