Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) green border, blazoned as follows: Per pale Sable and Argent (Silver Gray), issuant from line of division, in dexter and sinister, two stylized demi-stallion forcene reguardant counterchanged, in dexter detailed of the first and in sinister detailed of the second, surmounted by a shield blazoned: Vert, two pile reversed two piles of the first, edged of the second, within a diminished bordure of the last, in base two laurel branches saltirewise Vert. Attached above the shield a gray scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) green border inscribed MUSTANGS in green. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 3/4 inches (6.96 cm) in width.


Symbolism

Kelly green, black, silver and white are the school colors, which denotes leadership. The mustang is the mascot of the school, and the dual mustangs refer to the focus of the JROTC program: Citizenship and Personal Responsibility. The shield over both mustangs is symbolic to the role of every citizen; to protect their community through support of local programs and uphold the social standards. The pattern within the shield suggests unity and school pride; the silver outline highlights the letter M for Myers Park High School. The laurel branches signify success.

Description

A silver color metal and epoxied shield shaped device, 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height, blazoned as follows: Per pale Vert and Sable, a torch throughout, flames extending above the shield, issuant from both sides, mouths superimposed upon the torch two stylized demi-mustangs forcene reguardant, all Argent (Silver), detailed Gris. On either side of the shield a laurel branch with seven leaves Argent (Silver). Attached below the shield a bi-parted scroll; the left scroll is black inscribed MYERS and the right scroll is green inscribed PARK, all in silver.
