Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a white circular embroidered item, with a narrow light blue edging, light blue star throughout, surmounted by a bobcat face in position to the right, gold brown, garnished white with light blue details and edging; all within a white circular designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) light blue border and inscribed "STAR SPENCER" above and "HIGH SCHOOL" below in light blue letter. The overall diameter is 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm).


Symbolism

Blue and white are the school colors. The bobcat is the schools mascot. The five-pointed star alludes to the school's name and denotes unity, strength, honor, loyalty, and leadership. The open book reflects the school staff's excellence in education and the cadets' pursuit of knowledge. 


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 30 November 1994, it is currently being amended to update the manufacturing drawings and to add the ACU color conversions on 20 August 2018. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-374)

Description

A silver color metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a silver disc, with a silver horizontal rectangular bar at base, displaying a Blue star surmounted by a gold bobcat face, in position to the right; at the base of the device and between the bottom facets of the star, the stacked inscription "OUT" above "FRONT" in blue.
