Shoulder Loop Insignia

Description

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Vert two lions passant transposed in pale Or, on a chief Argent a saltire Gules. Attached to the sides and base of the shield a Gold tripartite scroll inscribed “PURPOSE, PRIDE, PASSION” in Green letters.


Symbolism

Green and gold are the school colors. Green represents youth and vitality, and gold denotes excellence in all endeavors. The lion is the school’s mascot. Two are displayed, symbolizing teamwork and solidarity of the Lion Battalion. The red saltire represents the academic and military program as two points intersecting throughout leadership development.


Background

The shoulder loop insignia was originally authorized 25 September 2018. The Symbolism was updated on 14 March 2023.
