Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a red circular embroidered item 3 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter overall, a White head of a Trojan soldier in profile to the right, couped at the neck, all within a circular Black designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) White border, the inscription ZAMA MIDDLE at the top and HIGH SCHOOL at base in White.


Symbolism

Black and white are the school colors. The red disc is a symbol of the sun, denoting passion, sincerity and enthusiasm. The Trojan soldier depicts the schools mascot.


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized on 8 July 1992.  It was amended to change the name of the school, update the manufacturing drawings and to add the ACU color conversions on 24 September 2018. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-265)

Shoulder Loop Insignia

Description

A silver color metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a Red Torii gate, surmounted at base by a White Trojan soldiers head in profile to the right and couped at the neck; attached below and to the sides of the Torii gate a Black scroll, inscribed ZAMA TROJANS in Silver letters.


Symbolism

Black and white are the schools colors. The Trojan soldier depicts the schools mascot and the motto. The tori gate reflects the schools location in the sovereign island country of Japan.
