The stylized royal warrior represents the pride of the Hawaiian people of Kapaa. The Hawaiian royalty were the only individuals to wear the Mahiole, a feathered helmet, in ceremonies and battle. The purple Kāhili, a feathered staff, is also symbolic of Hawaiian royalty, and carried by warrior Kāhili bearers and accompanied royalty in all ceremonies and processions. The purple color is the official color of Kauai Island. The Ihe, a spear, represents the warrior spirit and bravery historically demonstrated by Hawaiian warriors. The schools colors are green and white, with green alluding to the Hawaiian Islands and their lush tropical vegetation, and white is indicative of the purity and integrity of the people of Kapaa.
