Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a silver gray vertical rectangular shaped embroidered item arched convexly at top and bottom edged with a 1/8 (0.32cm) black border, a dark gray stylized falcons head with eye and beak gold detailed and edged black. Attached above the rectangle, a silver gray scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) black border inscribed A. P. HILL in gold. Attached below the rectangle, a silver gray scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) black border inscribed FALCONS in gold. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) width.


Symbolism

The falcon is the school mascot and often observed on campus throughout the academic year. The falcon denotes the exceptional ability of focus and power to achieve ones dreams. Gold is symbolic of exceptional talent and skill. The color black expresses diversity, responsibility and strength. The color gray signifies citizenship and leadership.

Description

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Sable, a pile enarched Or, all within a bordure of the last. Attached below the shield, a black scroll bearing the inscription ANDREW P. HILL FALCONS in gold.


Symbolism

The enarched pile over the black shield with a gold border resembles the open beak of a falcon, paying homage to the schools mascot, poised and ready for action. Gold exemplifies excellence and the power to achieve ones goals. The color black denotes diversity, strength, and inclusiveness.
