Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

A yellow vertical rectangular shape embroidered item arched convexly at top and bottom edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) black border, consisting of a stylized twisting tornado above the inscription TORNADOES in black. Attached the rectangle, a yellow scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) black border inscribed FAIRMONT in black.  Attached below the rectangle, a garnet scroll inscribed HIGH SCHOOL in black. Overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.86 cm) width.


Symbolism

Gold (yellow) and black are the school colors. Gold is the color of excellence and black symbolizes determination. The twisting tornado is the schools mascot and symbolizes swiftness and power.


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 25 September 1995, it is currently being amended to update the manufacturing drawings and to add the ACU color conversions on 13 June 2018. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-412)

Description

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Quarterly Sable and Argent, a representation of a tornado Or. Attached at base on both side of the shield, a black double scroll inscribed CONSISTENT GOODNESS in gold.


Symbolism

Gold, black, and white are the school colors. Gold is the color of excellence, white represents youth, and black symbolizes determination. The four quadrants come together representing diversity and teamwork. The twisting tornado is the schools mascot and symbolizes swiftness and power.


Background

The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 13 June 2018.
