Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, blazoned as follows: Sable, upon stylized flames Gules, throughout, issuant from dexter and sinister chief and dexter and sinister base four cubit arms fretted Argent (Silver Gray), edged and detailed of the first, each hand grasping anothers wrist; attached above the item a black triangular shaped scroll, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black scroll inscribed POMONA HIGH SCHOOL in Red. Overall dimensions are 3 inches  (7.62 cm) in height by 3 1/2 inch (8.89 cm) in width.


Symbolism

The school colors are black and red. The flames suggest enlightenment and knowledge. The arms in fret symbolize teamwork and denote the cadets involvement in school, family, community, and country.


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was origninally approved on 7 Febuary 1995, all manufacturings drawings was updated on 19 September 2018.

Blazon

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/8” (2.86cm) in height blazoned as follows: Tierced in pairle reversed Or, Gules and Sable, in dexter an stylized atomic symbol superimposed by a torch of the second; in sinister an unfurled scroll bendwise surmounted by a quill bend sinisterwise of the first and at base issuant from dexter and sinister chief and dexter and sinister base four cubit arms fretted with each hand grasping another wrist of the first; all within a bordure of the last.


Symbolism

The school colors are black and red. The shield is divided in to three areas: the top two refer to science and the arts, and reflect the academic environment of the cadets; the four arms grasping denote the cadet’s teamwork and devotion to country, community, school, and family.
