Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a purple embroidered disc the head of a yellow demi-bulldog, faced in 3/4 view to the right, white eyes and teeth, gums red, purple collar, spiked white; all within a white designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) purple border and inscribed LUTCHER above and HIGH SCHOOL below. Overall diameter is 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm).


Symbolism

Purple and gold are the school colors and represent achievement, imagination, success, triumph, and the inspiration of high ideas. The bulldog is the school mascot, symbolizing the bravery and tenacity it takes to be successful in all life endeavors.

Description

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Or, a pile reversed barry point in point Purpure, in chief three gutte de sang chevronwise. Surrounding the shield, a purple scroll, with the inscription ALWAYS at the top and FORWARD in bottom, in Gold. 


Symbolism

Purple and gold are the school colors. The small triangles combined together to form a larger triangle is a characterization of the concept: One of us is not as strong as all of us. The triangles also direct the viewer forward, therein keeping with the schools motto Always Forward. The three drops of blood signify charitable giving and are adapted from the Louisiana state flag. The school is located near the Mississippi river, which is referenced in the curves and folds of the scroll.
