Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a silver gray circular embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) maroon border, 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter, in the center, a maroon hornet, with silver gray details, below a maroon star, all within a circular inscription FAIRMONT HEIGHTS at top and HIGH SCHOOL at base, between two stars, all maroon.



Symbolism

The schools colors are maroon and gray. The hornet is the school mascot. The three stars represents military training, academic achievement, and physical fitness and denote the primary areas of training to which the cadets strive for excellence.


Background

The shoulder sleeve was originally authorized on 17 September 1992, it was amended to update the manufacturing drawings and to add the ACU color conversions on 12 April 2018.  TIOH Drawing Number (A-10J-278)

Description

On a silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height, consisting of a gray background bearing a black hornet detailed silver, interlaced by a maroon scroll, as a Mobius strip (shape as a 8), inscribed HEIGHTS at the top, TO to the center and EXCELLENCE at base, in silver.


Symbolism

The schools colors are maroon and gray. The hornet is the schools mascot and denotes the aggressive spirit of the cadets to strive for excellence.
