Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a light blue vertical rectangular shaped embroidered item arched convexly at top and bottom edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) dark blue border, a stylized clipper ship Proper, throughout. Attached above the rectangle, a yellow scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) dark blue border inscribed “CLAYTON” in dark blue letters.  Attached below the triangle, a yellow scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) dark blue border inscribed “CLIPPERS” in  
dark blue letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.86 cm) width.


Symbolism

Navy blue and gold are the school colors. The clipper ship, which is the mascot of the school, describes the journey of the student’s lives and careers, embarking on a voyage utilizing the knowledge and training gained from the ROTC program.

Description

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Celeste, a bend indented Argent, surmounted by a base wavy Azure, in sinister chief an anchor palewise Or. Attached below the shield, a blue scroll doubled bearing the inscription “IN PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE” in gold.


Symbolism

Navy blue and gold are the school colors. The white triangular bend conveys a sail, alluding to the school’s mascot of the clipper ship. The golden anchor signifies excellence and honor. The sail is filled with wind and the wavy base convey motion and direction, illustrating the motto “In Pursuit of Excellence.”
