Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

A vertical rectangular shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Purple border, arched convexly at the bottom and top, the background divided equally in quarters, purple and dark gray, displaying a stylized purple hurricane symbol, detailed silver gray. Attached above the rectangle, a silver gray scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) purple border inscribed “KLEIN CAIN.” Attached below the rectangle, a silver gray scroll edged
with a 1/8 inch purple border inscribed “HIGH SCHOOL” all in purple letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/4 inches (8.26cm) in height by 2 3/4 inches (6.96 cm) in width.


Symbolism

Gray and purple are the school colors; the quartered division of the shield represent integrity. Purple symbolizes energy; Grebe (Dark gray) and Silver indicates strength of character of the cadets. The stylized hurricane symbol is the school’s mascot icon, suggesting determination, as well as the impact of the cadet’s ability to be fierce but loyal to their school and community.

Blazon

On a shield shaped silver metal and epoxied device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Quarterly Purple and Azure, in the first quarter three bars wavy of the second, surmounted by two palm trees bending to sinister Argent (Silver); the second quarter a mullet Argent; the third quarter a stylized hurricane symbol bendwise of the third, eyed of the first; and in the fourth quarter issuant from base two palm trees bending to sinister of the third, in chief three bars wavy of the second. Attached the below the shield, a Purple scroll inscribed “HURRICANES” in silver letters.


Symbolism

Purple and Gray are the school’s colors. The color Purple represents, patience, power, rank, royalty, sacrifice and spirituality. The Silver Gray signifies purity, clarity, truth, discretion and maturity. The four quadrants of the shield symbolize the four directions of the compass, the bending palm trees represent the many the abilities of battalion cadets to be flexible with athletics, the arts and sciences, academics, and finally graduation. The wavy bars signify the location of the school near the coast and the star alludes to the state of Texas. The hurricane represents the perseverance of the school to achieve and is the school mascot.
