Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a red disc, a stylized white Badger’s head facing to right, detailed blue; encircled by a white designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border inscribed “ARKADELPHIA HIGH SCHOOL” at top and “BADGER BATTALION” at bottom all in blue letters. The overall diameter is 2 3/4 inches (6.99 cm).


Symbolism

The red, white, and blue colors of the insignia represent Arkadelphia High the school and the patriotism of the Badger Battalion. The badger is the school’s mascot, and denotes defense given the instinctive nature of the badger to readily defend its boundaries.

Description

On a shield shaped silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Gules, a stylized Badger’s head couped and facing sinister Azure, detailed Argent (Silver), within a bordure of the second charged with twenty-five mullets of the third. Attached to the base of the shield a Silver scroll inscribed “STAY ALERT, STAY ALIVE” in Blue.


Symbolism

Red, white and blue are the school colors and denote the patriotism of the Badger Battalion. The badger is the mascot of Arkadelphia High School and symbolizes organization and individuality. Badgers display an aggressive spirit that is symbolic of achievement and determination, which reflects the actions of Badger Battalion cadets in their pursuit of academic excellence, character development, and community service. The twenty-five stars represent Arkansas as the 25th state, admitted to the Union on June 15,
1836.
