Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a circular shaped embroidered item consisting of a white background displaying a flying American Bald Eagle Proper, throughout escorting a Green pennon with silver staff and inscribed “SOAR” in white; all within a circular green designation band with the arched inscription at top “RONALD E. McNAIR” and arched below “HIGH SCHOOL” all in white lettering. The overall diameter is are 3 1/4 inches (8.29 cm).


Symbolism

Lawn green, black and white are the school colors. The American eagle is a national symbol and the mascot of Ronald E. McNair High School. It embodies the school’s motto “SOAR” by how it can glide above the terrain reaching great heights.

Description

On a silver metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Per fess dancette debased Argent (Silver) and Vert, in chief and American Bald Eagle volant of the first. Attached above the shield, a silver scroll inscribed, “SOAR” in green letters. Attached below the shield, a silver scroll inscribed “RONALD E. McNAIR HS” in Green letters.
