The two sabers crossed at the top of the shield are a reference to the school’s mascot, the Raider, which is often depicted as a knight riding on a horse with a saber and shield. As a symbol of determination and courage, the sabers represent the cadet’s academic ambition and their ability to work hard to achieve their
goals. The sprigs of laurel on either side of the shield characterize the concept of excellence and accomplishment, and further refer to the school’s motto, “Pursue Excellence.”
