Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a white vertical rectangular shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) green border, issuing from base a green triangle, throughout, between two green stars, surmounting the triangle an eagle displayed Proper, wings elevated, above in base a white star.  Attached above the rectangle, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) green border, inscribed “PLEASANTON.” Attached below the rectangle, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) green border, inscribed “HIGH SCHOOL” all in green letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in height by 2 3/4 inches (6.98 cm) in width.    


Symbolism

Kelly green and white are the school colors. Green suggests renewal of the cadets’ motivation during military training.  White represents the student’s strength of character. The eagle is the school’s mascot, symbolizing self-determination. The three stars signify the three districts of academic, Pleasanton, Poteet and Jourdanton, unifying into one school location of Pleasanton High School.

Blazon

On a silver metal and epoxied shield shaped device 11/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Vert, an eagle’s head erase within a wreath of laurel Argent (Silver); on a point pointed Azure, a mullet of the second. Attached below the shield a scroll of the first inscribed “MAKE A WAY – SACATE!” in silver letters.


Symbolism

Kelly green and white (Silver) are the school colors. The eagle (eagle head) is the school mascot, symbolizing the self-determination; the laurel wreath denotes success in the cadet’s academic endeavor. The star upon the blue background alludes to the state of Texas, the home state of Pleasanton High School.  The word ‘Sacate’, in the motto, is an informal Spanish term which translates to ‘get out.’
