Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a black embroidered disc the head of a red lobo, faced to the right, eye and teeth white; all within a red designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border and inscribed “PALMVIEW HIGH SCHOOL” above and “LOBOS” below all in white. Overall diameter is 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm).


Symbolism

The school colors are red, black and silver  The lobo is the mascot of the school and symbolizes fierce determination.


Background

The Shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 23 March 2018.

Blazon

On a shield shaped silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm)  in height blazoned as follows: Gules, four chevronelles Sable, in chief  between a chain-link in pale, in front of a lyre conjoined masks of comedy and drama and an arched laurel branch surmounted by winged foot bendwise, toe downwards to sinister, and in base an enflamed lamp of knowledge, all Argent (Silver). Attached below the shield, a Black scroll inscribed “PALMVIEW” in Silver letters.


Symbolism

The masks and harp symbolize the arts. The winged foot and laurel branch are indicative of athletics and achievement. The linked chain signifies a bond of strength, unity and working together. The lamp portrays wisdom and the pursuit of knowledge.
