Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Blazon

On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) yellow border, blazoned as follows: Azure, a stylized mountain lion’s head caboshed and erased Or. Attached above the shield, a blue scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) yellow border inscribed “SIERRA VISTA” in yellow. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 7/8 inches (7.30 cm) in width.


Symbolism

The mighty mountain lion is the mascot of the school. Native to the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the mountain lion is agile, persistent, and intelligent, much like the students of the school. The school colors are blue, white, and gold, in honor of the state of Nevada’s colors and history of precious metal mining within the state.

Blazon

On a shield shaped silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Azure, between a wreaths Vert in base a mullet Argent in chief. Attached below the shield, a black bi-parted scroll inscribed “ALL FOR OUR COUNTRY” in silver.


Symbolism

The sagebrush wreath and star are adapted from the Nevada state flag, to pay tribute to the location of the school.
