Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Blazon

On an embroidered shield shaped item with an arced scroll attached above the shield, all edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) White border, blazoned as follows: Gules, on a fess dancettée of two pieces Sable, edged Argent, a lamp inflamed of the last. Attached above the shield a Black scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) White border inscribed “MT. MIGUEL” in Red letters. Overall dimensions 3 3/4 inches (9.53 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.


Symbolism

Red, black and white are the school colors. The dancettes/jagged bar alludes to the local mountains that give the school its name. The two white fimbriations forming the upper and lower mountain range are indicative of the letters “MM” in reference Mt. Miguel. The lamp of knowledge symbolizes the quest for academic excellence and achievement.

Blazon

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inch (2.86 cm) in width, blazoned as follows: Per fess dancettée Celeste and Or, from a base crested Azure a torch of the second, enflamed Gules. Attached below the shield a blue scroll inscribed “PER ANGUSTA AD AUGUSTA” all in Gold.


Symbolism

Black, red and white are the school colors. The torch symbolizes knowledge; the three dancettes/jagged division alludes to the local mountain ranges, combine with the four waves signify the school’s location of California.

The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 17 May 2018.
