Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Blazon

On a shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) Black border, blazoned as follows: Argent (Silver Gray), a stylized falcon to sinister Purpure, edged and detailed Sable wings elevated. Attached above the shield, a Silver Gray scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) Black border inscribed “DARLINGTON” in Black. Overall dimensions are 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in height by 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.


Symbolism

Purple and silver are the school colors. The falcon is the school’s mascot; a fierce and cunning raptor representing victory and success, with the ability to rise above any situation.

Blazon

On a shield shaped Silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Purpure, a cross of chains, between in dexter chief an unfurled scroll surmounted by a quill bend sinisterwise, in sinister chief a demi-torch enflamed, in dexter base an open oyster bendwise bearing a pearl, and in sinister base a scale, all Argent (Silver). Attached below the shield, a black scroll inscribed “FIRST STEP TO LEADERSHIP” in Silver.


Symbolism

The scroll and quill are emblematic of writing and education. The torch is alight with wisdom and passion, leading the way for others. The oyster bearing a pearl is symbolic of good fortune, perseverance through adversity, and the fruits that are born from overcoming obstacles. The scales are representative of justice and equality.
