Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a blue disc embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, surmounted by a white diagonal stripe from top left to bottom right, inscribed in the center following the diagonal stripe “SH” in blue. Overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter


Symbolism

The school colors are white and royal blue. Blue signifies strength of character and white alludes to dedication to duty. The design shares a similar appearance for all shoulder sleeve insignias that fall under the Dallas Independent School District to unite the spirit of academic excellence, while also allowing for a distinguishing characteristic for each school.

Blazon

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Per saltire Argent and Azure, a stylized winged dragon, to sinister Or. Attached at the bottom of the shield, a Blue scroll inscribed “DRAGON BATTALION” in Gold.


Symbolism

The school colors are white and royal blue. The dragon is the school’s mascot, signifying courage, leadership and knowledge. Dragons are fierce mythical creatures and with their own strength, soar to great heights to achieve success in all their endeavors.
