Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a disc embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, three diagonal stripes, white between blue and yellow, from top left to bottom right, inscribed in the center following the white diagonal stripe “TVH” in blue. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter.


Symbolism

The school colors are blue and gold. Blue signifies knowledge and loyalty, and gold alludes to achievement and success. The design shares a similar appearance for all shoulder sleeve insignias that fall under the Dallas Independent School District to unite and differentiate the schools from others.

Blazon

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Gyronny of twelve Argent (Silver Gray) and Argent, a mullet of six Or, garnished Azure, all points except for base extending just beyond shield, charged by a hurt, baring a silhouette of the city of Dallas, Texas, of the third. Attached at the bottom of the shield, a Blue scroll inscribed “TOWNVIEW” in Gold.


Symbolism

The school colors are blue and gold. The six-pointed star alludes to the six schools that fall under the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview High School: School for the Talented and Gifted, School of Science and Engineering, School of Government, Law, and Law Enforcement, School of Business and Management, School of Education and Social Services, and School of Health Professions. The star is also a symbol of high achievements and excellence in academic studies. The silhouette within the star pays homage to the city of Dallas, Texas.
