Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

A vertical rectangular shaped embroidered item arched convexly at top and bottom edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) Brown border, consisting of a brown background displaying two conjoined reversed elongated yellow triangles overall a buff horse rearing to the right. Attached above the rectangular, a buff scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32 cm) brown border inscribed “WESTERN” in brown letters. Attached below the rectangle, a buff scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) brown border inscribed “BROWN” in brown letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.86 cm) width.


Symbolism

Gold and brown are the school colors. The conjoined reverse triangles resembles the letter “W”, alluding to the school’s name of Western Brown. The bronco, a powerful and bold creature, is the school’s mascot and personifies the student’s ambitions and ability to  harness their strengths and focus on their goals.

Blazon

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inch (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Per fess dancettée Buff and Brün, a torch Or enflamed Tenné entoured by a horseshoe of the third. Attached below the shield, a Gold scroll bearing the inscription “BRONCOS” in brown letters.


Symbolism

Brown and gold are the school colors. The dancettée partition resembles the shape of the letter “W”, alluding to the school’s name of Western Brown. The enflamed torch signifies knowledge and education, and is placed at the forefront of the shield. The horseshoe alludes to the school mascot of the bronco, and conveys luck and good fortune.
