Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a circular shaped red embroidered disc, a Viking head facing forward, face and hair details buff, eyes white, on his head a red helmet with white horns, bearing in front two vertical white bars superimposed with a cropped diagonal bar from left to lower right, all edged and edged black; all within a circular white designation band, edged along the outside with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, with the inscription above “NORTHEAST” and below “HIGH SCHOOL” in black letters. Overall diameter is 3 inches (7.62 cm).


Symbolism

The school colors are black, red and white. Red symbolizes loyalty. The Viking represents the school’s mascot. The three white bars alludes to the letter “N’ for Northeast High School, signifying the strong resolve of the cadets through all barriers to build a new responsibilities

Blazon

On a silver shield shaped metal and epoxied device 1 1/4 inches (3.18cm) in height blazoned as follows: Per fess Sable and Gules, a bar, in chief a pallet all Argent (Silver) between in dexter a Viking helmet affrontee of the third, garnished of the second and in sinister a torteau within an octagon voided of the field, of the third, each side arced concavely and in base a compass rose of the last detailed Gules. Attached below the shield a black scroll inscribed “VIKINGS” in silver letters.


Symbolism

The school colors are black, red and white. Red symbolizes patriotism. The Viking helmet represents the school’s mascot, the Viking. The octagon arced inwardly and the red disc alludes to the sun and Northeast High School’s home state of Florida, the sunshine state. The compass rose conveys direction and guidance.
