Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a white vertical rectangle arched at the top and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border, 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 3/4 inches (6.99 cm) in width overall, a silver gray helm plumed and detailed black above the inscription “KATELLA” in red letters.  


Symbolism

Red and black are the school colors.  The knight is the school mascot and reflects the honor and dedication the cadets’ place in school, community and country.


Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally approved on 26 August 1997.  It was updated due to the new OCP color conversion on 18 May 2021.

Blazon

A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a tournament shield:  Gules, a helm Argent affronté plumed and detailed Sable.  Attached below a Silver scroll inscribed “VICTORY IN HONOR” in Black letters.
