Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a white disc shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32cm) green border, a stylized light green falcon swooping to the right, detailed and edged dark green and white eye and beak; all within the arched inscription above “GREEN HILL” and arched below “HIGH SCHOOL” below in green. Overall diameter is 3 1/8 inches (7.93 cm).


Symbolism

Green, silver and white are the school’s colors, indicating the landscape and location of Green Hill High School, which overlooks a historic roadway between Lebanon and Nashville. The school’s mascot is the eagle, which highlights the birds that are known to nest surrounding the campus.

Blazon

On a silver metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Quarterly Vert (Irish Green) and Vert (Green), in the first quarter, a pair of scales Argent; in the second quarter, an unfurled scroll, surmounted by a quill pen bend sinisterwise throughout, point to base Argent (Silver); in the third quarter a winged foot bendwise of the last, toe to base and in the fourth quarter, a key bend sinisterwise Argent, wards to base.  Attached below the shield, a light green scroll doubled green inscribed “TAKE THE HILL” in silver.


Symbolism

Green, silver and white are the school’s colors. The scales signify the cadet’s steady judgement as they resolve problems which effect their future. The scroll and quill pen represents learning and knowledge. The winged foot denotes the athletic proficiency of the cadet. The key illustrates the capability of the student to reveal the facts, performing their educational and/or military assignments.
