Description

On a green vertical rectangular shaped embroidered item arched convexly at top and bottom, edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32cm) white border, a silver gray demi-jousting knight in armor on horseback to the right, edged and details black, holding in its right hand a black lance diagonally downwards, surmounted over a shield, holding in its left hand, blazoned as follows: Vert, a chevron Argent; a chief of the last; all within a diminished bordure Sable.  Attached above the rectangle, a green scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32cm) white border, inscribed “WINDSOR FOREST” in white letters. Attached below the rectangle, a green scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32cm) white border, inscribed “HIGH SCHOOL” in white letters. Overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.35cm) in width.


Symbolism

Forest green and white are the school colors, alluding to the school’s namesake, Windsor Forest. The knight on horseback is the school’s mascot, exemplifying honor and courage. The shield symbolizes protection; the chevron signifies the school’s military guidance for the cadet, and the chief denotes the authority.

Blazon

On a silver metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Vert, a chevron ermine between in chief an unfurled scroll surmounted by quill pen bend sinisterwise and a winged foot bendwise, toe downwards to sinister and in base a stylized atomic symbol above a lamp with two handles, all Argent (Silver); on a chief of the last, five oak trees Vert, the second and fourth trees smaller, the end trees couped palewise. Attached to the sides and bottom of the shield, a black tri-parted scroll inscribed “WE LEAD - ALL WILL - FOLLOW” in silver letters.


Symbolism

Forest green and white are the school’s colors, alluding to the school’s  namesake, Windsor Forest. The chevron signifies the school’s military guidance for the cadet, emphasizing the motto, “WE LEAD - ALL WILL - FOLLOW”; the ermine pattern suggests self-respect. The following images illustrates the educational goals of Windsor Forest High School - the scroll and quill indicates scholastic journalism; the winged foot denotes athletic pursuits and the atomic symbol and the lamp stands for the sciences and comprehension respectively. The chief denotes the authority. The oak, the state tree of Georgia, embodies growth and strength.
