Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a red disc shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32cm) black border, a white seashell above two arched white feathers, detailed black and with buff shafts; all within the arched inscriptions “IMMOKALEE” above and “HIGH SCHOOL” below in white letters.  The overall diameter is 3-1/2 inches (8.89 cm).


Symbolism

Red and white are the school colors. The seashell suggests the Calusa tribe and their fierce spirit reflected in the cadets.  The two feathers represent the faculty and parents uplifting and supporting the cadets and students.

Blazon

On a silver metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1-1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in width blazoned as follows: Gules, on a pale invected Argent, three scallop shells Argent (Silver). On both side and behind the shield, palm branch of the last.  Attached below the shield, a black scroll doubled red inscribed “ONE TEAM ONE DREAM” in silver letters.


Symbolism

Red and white are the school colors, highlighting the traits of sincerity and a fierce fighting spirit instilled into the cadets.  Black symbolizes unwavering loyalty to home and duty.  The invected pale (vertical strip with semi-circular sides) emphasizes the meaning of the name Immokalee, which translate to “My home” in the Seminole language additionally, it represents a unified community as expressed in the motto of the school. The scallop shells allude to the community’s historical tides to Calusa tribe who were known as the “Shell Indians.”  Furthermore, each shell represents a segment of the school’s community, which are students, faculty, and parents.  The palm branches signify the location of the school near the western coast of the state of Florida.
