Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On an embroidered disc 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter overall, consisting of an inner white disc edged with a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) blue border, displaying a stylized blue Spartan’s helmet, faced to the right, encircled by a white designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border inscribed “HOLLYWOOD HILLS” at top and “SPARTANS” at bottom all in orange letters.


Symbolism

Blue and orange are the school colors. The color blue represents wisdom and orange denotes enthusiasm. The Spartan, one of the most feared foot soldiers in the ancient Greek world, is the school’s mascot, symbolizing he warrior spirit for achieving academic  excellence and professional goals. Blazon

On a shield shaped silver metal and epoxied device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Quarterly Azure and Tenné, in the first quarter a rolled scroll bend sinisterwise surmounted by a graduation cap; in the second quarter a torch enflamed bend sinisterwise superimposed by a winged foot of Mercury; in the third quarter an atomic symbol, and in the fourth quarter a theater mask, painters palette and musical harp bendwise all Argent (Silver); above the shield Spartans helm to sinister of the first.  Attached to the base of the shield, a blue scroll, doubled orange, with the inscription “SPARTAN BATTALION” in silver letters.
