Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a white embroidered disc, edged yellow, a cardinal bird head Proper, facing to the right, all within a circular yellow designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) border, with the inscription "WAYNE COUNTY" above and "HIGH SCHOOL" below in black letters. The overall diameter is 3 1 /2 inches (8.89 cm).


Symbolism

Red and white are the school colors.  The cardinal is the school mascot.

 


Background

The Shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized on 26 september 1994, it was revised and rescinded for autorization on 21 september 1995.

Blazon

A silver color metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1 1/8 inches (2.89 cm} in height, blazoned as follows: Gules, eight barrulets Argent (Silver), overall a torch of the last between two flaunches Argent (Silver) each bearing a demi-cardinal respectant  Gules. Attached below the shield a silver scroll inscribed "SHAPING THE FUTURE" in black letters.


Description

Red and white (silver) are the school colors. The cardinal is the school mascot. The torch reflects the school motto and alludes to the cadets' enlightenment through education.
