Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Blazon

A shield shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32cm) black border blazoned as follows:  Argent, a horse’s head erased reguardant Tenné, eye and teeth of the first, detailed and edged Sable. Attached above the shield, an orange scroll inscribed “NATRONA HS” in black letters.  Overall dimensions are 3-1/2 inches (8.89cm) in height by 3 inches (7.62cm) in width.


Symbolism

Black and orange are the school colors. The horse is the Natrona County High School’s mascot. Orange characterizes the cadets’ strength of character and determination to achieve; black signifies their devotion to the school and military studies.  White alludes to academic distinction and contributions to community service.

Blazon

A silver color metal and epoxy device 1-3/16 inches (3.02cm) in height consisting of a shield blazoned as follows: Tierce in pall reversed Argent (Silver), Tenné, and Sable, in dexter, upon mound a tree, all Vert; in sinister, three chevronels interlaced of the first; in base a horse forcene of the last.  Attached to the base of the shield an orange scroll inscribed “NATRONA” in silver letters.


Symbolism

Orange and black are the school colors. Orange characterizes the cadets’ capacity with confronting any assignment; black signifies their devotion to the school and community.  The tree on the mound symbolizes the state tree, the Cottonwood, alluding to the areas agricultural resources, as well as the school’s location. The chevronels are denotes of support, also illustrating the mountainous landscape of the regions.  The horse is the Natrona County High School’s mascot. It also depicts the spirit and resilience of the students, as they complete educational and physical education tasks.


Background

The Shoulder loop insignia was authorized 3 January 1986.
