Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description

On a yellow disc shaped embroidered item edged with a 1/8 inch (.32cm) blue border, a yellow stylized devil’s head, with yellow teeth and horns, edged and detailed blue; all between the arched inscriptions “HENRY CLAY” above and “BLUE DEVILS” below in blue letters.  Overall diameter is 3-1/4 inches (8.26cm).


Symbolism

Blue and gold are the school colors.  The devil’s head depicts the school’s mascot, the Blue Devils

Blazon

On a gold metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1-1/4 inches (3.18cm) in height blazoned as follows: Sable, issuant from base a demi- torch enflamed in pale Or within and encircled by a representation of devil’s tail issuant from base, terminating in dexter, point of the tail downwards, Azure fimbriated of the second. Attached below the shield, a blue scroll inscribed “DEEDS NOT WORDS” in gold letters.


Symbolism

Royal blue and gold are the school colors and highlight the school’s extensive and diverse curriculum.  The devil’s tail alludes to the school’s mascot, the Blue Devils. The enflamed torch represents academic achievement and furthermore symbolizes a guiding light for cadets to navigate the future.
