Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Blazon

 On shield shaped embroidered item edged and enhanced with a 1/8 inch (0.32cm) Black border, blazoned as follows: Sable, two chevrons reversed conjoined per chevron reversed Gules and Argent. Attached above the item a Silver Gray scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (0.32cm) Black border, inscribed “CENTRAL” in Black letters. Overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89cm) in height by 2 3/4 inches (6.96cm) in width.


Symbolism

Black, red, and silver are the school colors.  The two conjoined chevrons reversed resemble the letter “W”, which stands for the school’s mascot, the Warriors.

Blazon

On a silver metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1-1/4 inches (3.18cm) in height blazoned as follows: Argent (Silver), on a pile Sable between in dexter two paintbrushes bendwise surmounted by a lyre and in sinister a winged foot bendsinisterwise, toes to base, all of the second, a lamp of knowledge of the first; on chief of the first, a bar wavy Celeste. Attached below the shield, a red tri-partite scroll inscribed “CENTRAL - HIGH - WARRIORS” in silver letters.


Symbolism

Red, black, and silver are the school colors.  The shield shape was adapted from the state seal of Colorado. The pile denotes the Grand Valley; both of these features allude to the geography of the school’s location in Grand Junction, Colorado.  The lamp of knowledge signifies academic excellence and enlightenment. The winged foot suggests the school’s achievements in athletic programs.  The paint brushes and lyre highlight the music and arts curriculum. The wavy bar represents the Colorado River.
