Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a silver gray rectangular device with a silver gray arced scroll attached above and below, all edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) scarlet border, the overall dimensions 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 3/8 inches (6. 03 cm) in width, three ropes, the outer rope scarlet, center rope silver gray, and inner rope blue, forming a five-pointed star centered on which is a silver gray five-pointed star. On the upper scroll the inscription "AUBURN" and on the lower scroll the inscription "HIGH" in blue letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 29 July 1976.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel insignia 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a blue enamel octagon on which is the head of a tiger affront couped detailed of blue enamel, all within an encircling silver band inscribed "TIGERS" at the top and "AUBURN HIGH SCHOOL" below in blue enamel letters.

Symbolism
Royal blue and white are the colors of Auburn High School. The octagon is from the coat of army of the School. The head of the tiger is indicative of the name "Tigers" by which the School's athletic teams are known. It also reflects the spirit of the cadets in academic, military and physical endeavors.

The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 29 July 1976.
