Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a dark blue horizontal rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom a gold brown Eskimo warrior shaded black, highlighted Buff and garbed in a gold brown parka with yellow fur hood and cuff trim, wearing blue mittens and grasping a spear hafted black tipped gold brown ferruled yellow. Attached above, a yellow scroll edged with a narrow black border and inscribed "BETHEL" in blue letters. Attached below, a yellow scroll edged with a black narrow border inscribed "HIGH SCHOOL" in blue letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Royal blue and yellow are the school colors. The warrior is the school mascot.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 24 June 1997.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Azure, eight mullets in the shape of the constellation Ursa Major and Polaris, surmounted by a White Eskimo warrior throwing a Gold spear. Attached below the shield a Gold scroll inscribed "REFUSE TO LOSE" in Blue letters.

Symbolism
Blue and yellow are the school colors. The field and star constellation suggest the Alaska state flag. The Eskimo warrior is the mascot of Bethel High School.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved 24 June 1997.
