Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in diameter overall consisting of a maroon disc on which is a lynx's head in base metal with details black, nose maroon, and a black lozenge on the forehead; all encircled by a maroon designation band inscribed "DIMOND HIGH SCHOOL" at top and "PRIDE" at bottom, between two laurel sprigs all in base metal.

Symbolism
Maroon and gold are the school's colors. The Lynx is the school mascot and is one of the wild animals' native to Alaska. The laurel sprigs allude to the academic wreath associated with the military. Pride represents: P-Persevere, R-Responsible, I-Initiative, D-Diligent, and E-Excellence.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 3 October 2008.
