On a purple rectangular shaped embroidered device convex at the top and bottom, charged with the Aurora Borealis green and below a purple Malemute head cut at the neck, detailed yellow and white. Attached above, a yellow scroll inscribed "LATHROP" in purple letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height. Attached below, a yellow scroll inscribed "MALEMUTE" in purple letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height. All within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) purple border, its overall dimension 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.
The school colors are purple and gold. The Malemute Dog is the school mascot. The Aurora Borealis is an Alaskan phenomenon.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 4 April 2007
