Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
A shield-shaped insignia 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 2 5/16 inches (5.87 cm) in width overall, consisting of an inner blue shield on which is the head and upper torso of a Spartan in white detailed blue garbed in an orange and yellow helmet detailed blue, within an orange band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, the orange band inscribed "CAMELBACK" at the top in blue letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.
The shoulder sleeve insignia originally authorized 28 March 1979 was updated 30 March 1989 to add subdued version. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-131)
Shoulder Loop Insignia
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall, consisting of a rectangular shield arced at top and bottom, divided diagonally from the viewer's upper left to lower right orange above blue on which is centered a white shield with straight horizontal top and bottom and arced sides charged with a black sword with blade up, diagonally placed from upper left to lower right. Attached below the large shield a blue arced scroll inscribed "PRIMUS SUPER OMNIA" in gold metal letters.
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 28 March 1979.
