A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a shield and crest blazoned: Gules a cross throughout diminished Argent between in dexter chief an open book debruised by a quill bendwise, in sinister chief a lyre, in dexter base a winged foot, and in sinister base a scale Argent. From a wreath of the colors a lamp Argent flamant Gules.
Red and white (silver) are the school colors. The shield reflects the academic curriculum of the school: the book and quill reflect the language arts; the winged foot symbolizes all athletic programs; and the scale alludes to the sciences. The lamp of knowledge crest symbolizes the cadets' desire for learning and the instructors' ability to impart knowledge.
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 19 September 1994.
