Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
Within a red arched scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border and inscribed "ARVIN HIGH SCHOOL" in white letters, a red demi-bear affront eyed and dented white, detailed black. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 3 inches (7.62 cm) wide.

Symbolism
Red and white are the school colors. The bear is the school mascot. The bear within the arch represents the cadets in a learning environment and supporting school and community.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 22 February 1996.

Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height consisting of a silver triangle arched at base bearing a red bear statant between three red stars, all within a red triangular border above a red scroll inscribed "ARVIN BEARS" in silver letters; attached above, a red and silver wreath of laurel.

Symbolism
Red and white (silver) are the school colors. The bear, adapted from the California state flag, is the school mascot, and reflects the school's location. The stars within a triangle symbolize scholarship, leadership and citizenship, and reflect the cadets' dedication to school, community and country.
