Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On an orange vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border issuing in base a black chevronel to dexter surmounted by a white chevronel to sinister, overall a white horse salient reguardant detailed black. Attached below a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed "FOOTHILL" in black letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 3/8 inches (6.03 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Orange, black and white are the school colors. The mustang is the school mascot which reflects independence and intense strong will of the cadets. The chevronels suggest mountains and allude to the foothills around Sacramento.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 4 March 1997.

Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned: Tenn, a base dancetty of three supporting a mustang traversed, salient reguardant Argent, a border diminished of the last. Surmounting the shield in base a Black scroll inscribed "MUSTANGS" in Silver letters.

Symbolism
Orange, black and white are the school colors. The mustang is the school mascot. The suggestions of mountains allude to the foothills around Sacramento.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 4 March 1997.
