Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A shield-shaped device with an arced scroll attached above and below the shield, all edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) gold border, the overall dimensions 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in height and 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width consisting of a white shield, the upper half composed of seven alternating red and white stripes, overall above two gold five pointed stars in base a gold eagle, poised with wings elevated. On the blue arched scroll above the shield the inscription "WASHINGTON HIGH" and on the blue scroll below the shield the inscription "GENERALS" in white letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 16 May 1978.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel insignia 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield divided horizontally into two equal halves red in the upper half and white in the lower half; on the lower half a gold demi-sun in splendor surmounted by a gold bear on a green mound. Attached below the shield an arced blue scroll inscribed "LOS ANGELES USD" in gold letters.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved 16 May 1978.
