Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
An embroidered device consisting of a blue circular shape enclosed in a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) yellow edge displaying the profile head of a lion in yellow. Enclosing that, a blue circular designation band inscribed "CARTER HIGH SCHOOL" above and "LIONS" below in yellow block letters. The entire device is edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border. Overall dimension is 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter.

Symbolism
Blue and gold are the school's colors. The lion is the school's mascot.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 14 December 2005.

Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel shield shaped device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Quarterly, first and fourth Argent; in first quarter, a key fesswise ward to base Or, second and third Azure; in second quarter, an atom of the second, overall in the third and fourth, a lion's face caboshed Blue and Gold. Attached below the shield, a Blue scroll inscribed "STRIDE WITH PRIDE" in base metal letters.

Symbolism
Blue and gold are the school's colors. The key symbolizes scholarly achievement and knowledge. The atom alludes to the nucleus for education. The lion represents courage and strength.
