Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A yellow disc edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border, the overall diameter 3 inches (7.62 cm), on which is a blue bucking mule, with yellow saddle, on which is a monogrammed "WW." Around the disc originating in base to the viewer's left an arced inscription "WOODROW WILSON" in blue letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 11 March 1975.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel insignia 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield divided horizontally into two equal halves blue over gold, the lower half bearing a gold demi-sun in splendor surmounted by a gold bear on a green mound. Attached below the shield an arced blue scroll inscribed "LOS ANGELES USD" in gold letters.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was originally approved 20 November 1931. It was amended on 10 May 1976 to add a motto scroll.
