On a shield-shaped, embroidered device 3 1/8 inches (7.94 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width blazoned: Quarterly, Azure and Argent, overall a bulldog statant guardant and traversed in trian aspect Grebe (Silver Gray) detailed Sable, eyed and dented White, gorged with a collar of the fourth armed of seven spikes as the teeth. Attached above the shield a White arced scroll inscribed "JAMES HILLHOUSE" in Blue letters and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Blue border.
Navy, white and gray are the school colors. The bulldog is the school mascot.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 9 April 2002.
